HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled and experienced HVAC Service Technicians and Installers to join our team. This position is primarily service and repair focused, with some installation work as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, mechanical aptitude, and experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates professionally with customers, and can diagnose issues efficiently in the field.

Duties

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and system inspections.
• Provide customers with clear explanations of system issues and recommended solutions.
• Install HVAC equipment and components according to design specifications and local codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to HVAC systems.
• Test system performance and ensure proper operation after repairs or installations.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and service recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and industry standards during service and installation activities.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of company vehicles, tools, and job sites.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems and controls.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining heating and cooling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with field service operations within the HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles and airflow diagnostics.
• Ability to plumb and assemble HVAC systems and components accurately.
• Experience with equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related mechanical fields with a strong understanding of HVAC/R systems.
• Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC installation or repair.
• Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, refrigeration systems and boiler operation.
• Mechanical knowledge spanning equipment repair, welding, electrical troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters, and appliance repair.
• Field service experience working on air conditioning units, property maintenance tasks, or mechanical systems in commercial or residential settings.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers preferred for safe transportation between job sites. Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
