JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: HVAC SERVICE TECHNICIAN

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Troubleshoots defective HVAC systems and equipment to make diagnoses and proper repairs.

Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.

Repairs, replaces and/or adjusts vents, and ductwork as necessary.

Ensures condensation drain lines are free of debris and draining properly.

Performs equipment start up and quality inspections on new construction installations.

Performs on call and emergency repairs promptly and efficiently on a rotation basis as necessary.

Communicates with customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay costs to customer, and offer alternative solutions.

Communicates with office dispatchers to coordinate service calls and ordering of parts, materials and HVAC equipment as needed.

Maintains service truck and ensures vehicle safety checks are completed as outlined by company’s Safety Policy.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent with minimum three years residential HVAC service/installation experience.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and well-versed in safety precautions.

Proficient electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills, reading schematics and work plans.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short notice.

Physically agile, dexterous, and able to work in confined spaces.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

• Residential HVAC Mechanical: 3 years (Preferred)
