HVAC Service Technician / Installer

Comfort Assurance Heating and Air LLC is seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Service Technician / Installer to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, performing installations, and ensuring optimal system performance.

The ideal candidate prioritizes customer satisfaction, safety, and system reliability, and demonstrates strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Position Summary

The HVAC Service Technician / Installer is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This includes performing routine maintenance, warranty work, emergency repairs, and full system replacements, while ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and company procedures.

What You’ll Do (Essential Functions)

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and equipment
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues
• Troubleshoot system failures and identify maintenance risks
• Perform system cleaning, adjustments, and warranty services
• Install and replace HVAC equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes
• Perform emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner
• Guide customers in selecting appropriate air quality and HVAC solutions
• Maintain accurate daily logs, service records, and documentation
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
• Follow established service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements
• Provide professional customer support and respond to inquiries
• Safely operate a company vehicle within the designated service area

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC service and/or installation experience
• Valid EPA Section 608 Certification
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems (electrical, mechanical, refrigerant)
• Experience installing and replacing HVAC systems
• Valid driver’s license and must be insurable under company policy
• Ability to provide and maintain basic HVAC tools
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master HVAC license
• Trade school certification or equivalent training
• Experience with residential and/or light commercial systems
• Working knowledge of boiler systems and air balancing

Work Schedule & Expectations

• Monday–Friday
• Overtime opportunities based on business needs
• Participation in on-call rotation, including evenings, and weekends as required

Compensation & Benefits

• $25–$35/hour (based on experience, certifications, and skill level)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces)
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions

• Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and other pre-employment screenings, where applicable
