HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman

The HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman oversees and coordinates the installation of sheet metal ductwork and related HVAC components on commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with mechanical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. The foreman supervises crews, manages job site logistics, and communicates with project managers, Superintendents, general contractors, and inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision & Leadership

  • Lead and supervise HVAC sheet metal crews on job sites.
  • Delegate tasks and monitor crew performance to maintain productivity.
  • Train apprentices and journeymen .

2. Project Coordination

  • Review and interpret mechanical plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Plan and coordinate daily activities to meet project schedules.
  • Work with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to avoid conflicts and delays.

3. Installation Oversight

  • Oversee the installation of ductwork systems (supply, return, exhaust, etc.).
  • Ensure proper sizing, layout, and fitting of ducts according to plan.
  • Manage fabrication and installation of custom sheet metal components as needed.

4. Quality Control

  • Ensure all installations meet local code, customer specifications, and company standards.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce job site safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety tailgate/box meetings and ensure the use of proper company policy PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.

6. Materials & Tools Management

  • Order and manage inventory of materials and tools.
  • Coordinate delivery of sheet metal materials and equipment to the job site.
  • Minimize waste and control job costs.
  • Ability to layout and detail ductwork and create cut sheets

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked, materials used, and progress.
  • Submit daily or weekly job reports via Procore
  • Knowledge of as-builts and ability to document any field changes or modifications to original plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of HVAC sheet metal installation experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Knowledge preferred in installing VRF systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of SMACNA standards and mechanical codes.
  • Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
