Position Summary

We’re seeking a motivated and teachable Apprentice who’s eager to learn both solar installation and HVAC (heat pump) installation. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to develop hands-on skills across both trades — from installing rooftop solar systems to helping with heat pump and HVAC projects.

This position is ideal for someone looking to start or grow their career in renewable energy and electrification. Onsite training, mentorship, and continuous education will be provided, with opportunities to advance into lead installer roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to install and maintain solar PV systems, battery storage, and heat pump/HVAC systems.
  • Install and seal roof attachments, racking supports, solar panels, and related equipment safely and accurately.
  • Assist with HVAC and heat pump installations, including line set connections, carpentry, commissioning, and system testing.
  • Load and organize materials, tools, and equipment for each project.
  • Assist with inventory tracking.
  • Follow manufacturer installation guidelines and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
  • Participate in required safety and product training sessions.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with homeowners and team members.

Requirements

Minimum:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs, climb ladders, and work on roofs or in crawl spaces.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying temperatures.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Preferred:

  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, construction, or HVAC trades.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, basic construction techniques, or mechanical drawings.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Sheet metal or electrical experience a plus.
  • Understanding of NEC codes related to PV systems (not required but helpful).
