HVAC Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air handlers, chillers, boilers, rooftop units, exhaust systems, and building automation systems

• Monitor temperature, humidity, and air quality across gaming floors, hotel areas, restaurants, and back-of-house spaces

• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency HVAC issues to minimize guest impact and downtime

• Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules and manufacturer specifications

• Diagnose system malfunctions and recommend repairs or system improvements

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and compliance documentation

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and tribal, federal, and state codes

• Coordinate with other Facilities staff, contractors, and vendors as needed

• Support special events and peak operational periods with proactive system monitoring

• Maintain professionalism and discretion in guest-facing and secure gaming areas

Required Qualifications

• 2–5 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience (casino, hotel, or resort experience a plus)
• EPA Universal Certification required
• Working knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigeration systems, and mechanical equipment
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a tribal gaming license
• Must pass background check
• Preference may be given to qualified tribal members in accordance with tribal employment policies

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the tribal casino property. This role ensures a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for guests, employees, and gaming operations, supporting uninterrupted casino and resort activities.
