HVAC Technician Job Description

An HVAC Technician is a skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires strong technical knowledge, practical skills, and the ability to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation of HVAC Systems

• Install air conditioners, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, split units, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
• Install ductwork, insulation, refrigerant piping, and drainage systems.
• Read and follow technical drawings and layout plans.

2. Maintenance & Servicing

• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Clean filters, coils, condensers, and evaporators.
• Check refrigerant levels, pressures, and system performance.
• Inspect electrical components, motors, and compressors.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose faults using gauges, multimeters, and testing tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, thermostats, sensors, motors, and valves.
• Detect refrigerant leaks and recharge systems.

4. System Testing & Commissioning

• Test newly installed systems for proper operation.
• Balance airflow and ensure cooling/heating efficiency.
• Ensure systems meet safety and performance standards.

5. Safety Compliance

• Follow safety procedures when handling electrical equipment and refrigerants.
• Use PPE and comply with workplace safety regulations.
• Ensure proper disposal of refrigerants and materials.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycle and HVAC principles
• Ability to read HVAC drawings and schematics
• Skilled in brazing, piping, and electrical connections
• Familiarity with tools like manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, and multimeters
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From AED1,500.00 per month
