HVAC Technician Intern

Duties

• Support HVAC technicians in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems using schematics and technical manuals
• Assist with service calls involving air conditioning units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, and appliances
• Help interpret schematics and mechanical drawings to understand system layouts and troubleshoot issues effectively
• Participate in routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, equipment inspections, and preventative care for HVAC/R equipment
• Aid in plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems including pipe fittings and drainage connections
• Use tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for minor repairs when necessary
• Contribute to property maintenance by supporting field service operations across various sites

Experience

• Basic understanding of construction principles and mechanical systems gained through coursework or prior experience
• Service technician experience or exposure to HVAC/R environments is highly desirable
• Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, or HVAC design concepts
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus
• Hands-on experience with plumbing, appliance repair, or boiler maintenance is beneficial
• Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance procedures
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver certification preferred
• Experience using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters or welding equipment is advantageous
• Prior field service or property maintenance experience will help you excel in this role
