HVAC/R Service Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team, providing expert service in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, construction, and property maintenance, with experience in service technician roles. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including HVAC/R systems, plumbing, and equipment repair. A valid <PERSON> driver’s license is required for travel between job sites. Candidates with experience in ammonia refrigeration, boiler systems, welding, and appliance repair are highly desirable. The role involves diagnosing issues using schematics and mechanical knowledge to ensure optimal system performance and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for system troubleshooting and installation
• Perform service calls to diagnose and resolve HVAC/R issues efficiently
• Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems and property maintenance tasks
• Repair and maintain refrigeration systems such as ammonia refrigeration units
• Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics and equipment repair
• Perform welding and mechanical repairs as needed to ensure system integrity
• Assist with HVAC design modifications or upgrades based on client needs
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed

Skills

• Proven experience in construction, HVAC/R service technician roles, or property maintenance
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• Experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles and air conditioning systems
• Skilled in plumbing, boiler operation, appliance repair, and equipment maintenance
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing equipment
• Ability to operate welding equipment safely and effectively
• Field service experience with a focus on customer satisfaction and timely repairs
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair and maintenance tasks
• Valid <PERSON> driver’s license for travel between job sites
• Additional skills such as mechanic experience or familiarity with HVAC/R standards are advantageous
