Straight Shot, an excavation company based in Marine City, MI, is hiring a General Laborer / Vac Truck Operator. This is a labor-focused position that requires a CDL and the ability to assist with underground work. Experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general labor on excavation and underground job sites
• Operate a vac truck both Jet service, as well as hydro excavation(experience Required)
• Underground water and sewer line repairs (experience Required)
• Hand digging, trench work, exposing underground utilities, General Labor
• Follow safety procedures and work outdoors in all weather
• Be available on call for emergency work
• Full understanding Of the MISS DIGG 811 Service, and underground facilities, as well as facility marking understanding.

Requirements:

• Valid CDL (Class A)
• General labor experience (underground construction/hydro excavation preferred)
• Good knowledge of water and sewer line repair
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
• Reliable transportation to Marine City, MI
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn

Pay:

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience, knowledge, and actual capabilities.

• Can you read utility maps, locate water/sewer services, and identify underground lines safely?
• How many years of experience do you have in underground excavation or utility repair work?

• Are you familiar with water & sewer line type, sizing, and connections?
• Do you have experience performing underground water and sewer line repairs?

(digging, exposing utilities, cutting pipe, coupling pipe, repairing breaks, etc.)

Experience:

• Vac truck: 1 year (Required)
• Underground utilities: 1 year (Required)
• Outdoor work: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• CDL A (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Marine City, MI 48039: Relocate before starting work (Required)
