Hydropower Civil Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hydropower Civil Engineer to support the technical development of hydropower projects from early-stage assessment through detailed design and implementation. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, proven engineering competency, and a collaborative mindset to help deliver high-quality renewable energy infrastructure. The role would be onsite in our central office in Dubai working along our technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical due diligence for existing hydropower assets, evaluating project performance, risks, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Support early-stage site evaluation, including feasibility assessments, initial layout considerations, and identification of key civil requirements.
• Develop conceptual design options for new projects and contribute to preliminary engineering packages.
• Deliver detailed civil engineering designs in collaboration with multidisciplinary technical teams, including geotechnical, structural, electrical, and environmental specialists.
• Work closely with internal and external experts to conceptualize project configurations, optimize layouts, and resolve design challenges.
• Oversee and manage aspects of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) process, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Provide technical assistance and support to the senior engineering team to facilitate timely and efficient project development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a civil engineer with direct involvement in hydropower project development, design, or construction.
• Experience working in Africa or other developing regions is highly preferred, especially in remote or challenging environments.
• Strong understanding of hydropower civil works, including intakes, waterways, dams, spillways, penstocks, powerhouse foundations, and related structures.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards and project development frameworks.
• Foreign language skills are an asset.
• Proficiency in most standard engineering software packages: AutoCAD, SAP2000, GeoStudio, Civil 3D, EPANET, Global Mapper, MS Project.

Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
