DUTIES
- Prepare patients for hygiene appointments and ensure their comfort throughout the visit.
- Assist the dental hygienist during procedures as needed (passing instruments, suctioning, etc., based on state guidelines).
- Take diagnostic X-rays as directed and in accordance with certification requirements.
- Review medical history with patients and update records accurately.
- Functions as a treatment coordinator and prepares and presents treatment plans to patients
- Must perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail
- Set up and break down hygiene operatories before and after each appointment.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following OSHA and practice protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of hygiene rooms, sterilization areas, and patient spaces.
- Monitor equipment performance and notify the team of any maintenance needs.
- Help manage patient flow by escorting patients in and out of operatories promptly.
- Communicate with front office staff regarding patient readiness and schedule updates.
- Restock hygiene rooms with necessary supplies and report when ordering is needed.
- Must have the ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments within the practice, with a positive approach

- Must listen attentively for clarification to ensure necessary outcomes
- Document services performed by the hygienist as directed.
- Enter treatment notes, periodontal charting, and X-ray information into the patient’s chart (depending on office policy).
- Prepare patient education materials and assist with oral hygiene instruction when appropriate.
Patient Education & Communication
- Reinforce hygiene instructions provided by the hygienist.
- Communicate post-appointment instructions clearly and professionally.
- Support patients with questions and ensure they feel informed and cared for.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and support clinical team members during busy periods.
- Follow all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines to protect patient privacy and ensure safety.
Certifications:
- Coronal Polish Certificate (Required)
- Certified Dental Assistant (Required)
- X-Ray Certification (Required)
- CPR certified (Required)
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
