Summary: Under limited supervision and with moderate latitude for the use of independent judgment, coordinates program related objectives and initiatives, keeps official records and executes administrative policies determined by or in conjunction with other officials.
Essential Functions
Coordinates administrative procedures for information processing, record maintenance, compliance, compiles, verifies and prepares materials and information to comply with required reports, administers established procedures and monitors for appropriate information retention.
Assists faculty, staff and students with submission and training requirements for research studies.
Coordinates assigned activities and resources; coordinates with others to analyze areas, satisfy planning needs, and document program effectiveness and compliance with appropriate guidelines, works to remove barriers that impede continuous improvement.
Establishes goals and objectives; develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and coordinates evaluation activities.
Coordinates the implementation of techniques for evaluating business functions or divisions or department activities.
Assists with coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of policies and procedures and monitors compliance with policies and procedures.
Oversee inquiries into potential non-compliance involving animal protocols and/or policies and procedures.
Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations.
Provides technical guidance for a business function, division or department.
May coordinate staff development plans and activities.
Assists with pre-review and submission and oversight of Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) protocols and amendments.
May coordinate the preparation, development, review, and revision of legislation.
May represent the business function, division, or department at meetings, conferences, and seminars or committees.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
and
Experience: Two years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of OLAW, PHS, and NIH regulations, previous IRB and/or IACUC experience preferred
