IATF Coordinator

The IATF Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, improving, and ensuring compliance with the IATF 16949 Quality Management System (QMS) within the manufacturing facility. This role leads internal audits, supports customer and third-party audits, ensures documentation control, and drives continuous improvement initiatives aligned with quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the company’s IATF 16949 Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and applicable customer-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead internal audits; develop audit schedules and corrective action plans.
  • Serve as primary contact for external certification audits and customer audits.
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for effectiveness and closure.
  • Maintain document control processes, including procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Track and report key quality performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Facilitate Management Review meetings and prepare required documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
  • Ensure proper training and awareness of QMS requirements across departments.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure compliance.
  • Manage risk analysis activities including PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Support new program launches to ensure compliance with APQP and PPAP requirements.
  • Maintain calibration system oversight and records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field in process. Equivalent experience in automotive manufacturing will be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing quality systems.
  • Direct experience with IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Experience leading internal and external audits.
  • Familiarity with core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.


Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and on the plant floor.

Physical Demands
Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and production areas. Office work required for documentation and reporting. Occasional travel for supplier audits or customer meetings may be required.

  • Ability to walk production floor daily.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
