Engineer Precision with Augment Professional Services (APS)
Are you a technically sharp, detail-driven professional with a passion for automation and control systems? As an I&C Engineer with APS, you will play a critical role in designing, specifying, and supporting the instrumentation and control systems that power complex industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure systems are accurate, reliable, and ready to perform.

The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, specification, integration, and support of instrumentation, control, and automation systems. You will support engineering deliverables and field implementation across process facilities, utility plants, manufacturing environments, or capital construction projects.
Develop and review I&C engineering deliverables including P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, and control narratives
Specify and select instrumentation and control equipment (flow meters, pressure transmitters, control valves, etc.)
Design and configure control systems including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS platforms
Support field teams during installation, commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing
Perform I/O list development, wiring diagram reviews, and system integration planning
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (ISA, NEC, NFPA, API, etc.)
Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration with mechanical, process, and electrical systems
Support procurement, vendor coordination, and review of submittals and factory acceptance testing (FATs)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline
3–8 years of experience in I&C design, automation, or controls engineering
Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control system architectures, and loop drawings
Experience with PLC programming and configuration (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, and/or DCS systems
Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Ability to support field execution and commissioning activities as needed
Experience with process control in oil & gas, chemical, water treatment, or power generation
Exposure to cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems
ISA certification (e.g., CAP, CCST) or PE license is a plus
Working knowledge of industry software (Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, SmartPlant Instrumentation, etc.)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is beneficial for certain field assignments
