Ice Cream Cake Decorator

Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream is looking for a full-time and part-time Ice Cream Cake Decorator to join our team.

Position Overview

• Baking, building, and decorating cakes and pies according to the recipes, measurements, cooking, and standards of MFIC using a variety of tools and techniques as established by the Chef and Owner.
• Ensure consistency in all food products we produce.
• Prioritize daily production schedule with the Production Manager
• Manage and maintain all perishable and nonperishable ingredients through FIFO.
• Collaborate when appropriate with the Chef with new menu items and projects.
• Continuously manage active and incoming orders to meet the demands of the business.
• Communicate in a timely manner any needs and discrepancies for all ingredients to ensure quality standards established by the Chef.
• Assist in training new and incoming cake production cooks as needed in accordance with MFIC training modules.
• Ensure uniform and personal hygiene standards are met and maintained.
• A qualifying certificate in food protection issued by New York City DOHMH is strongly preferred.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
2 years of kitchen prep and or cooking experience.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Ability to positively impact others.
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
Able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs for up to 8+ hours.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to work mornings. Must be clean, organized, and a team player who is committed to upholding company standards. Production will include pies, cakes, and variety of other pastries. Experience in a NYC food establishment is a plus. Holding a NYC Food Handlers Certificate, also a plus. We are looking for an immediate hire for this position.
