At Hangry Bear Creamery, we create unique & premium ice cream flavors on site, custom ice cream flavors for shipment or wholesale, a delicious food menu of brunch and lunch items available all day and fun drink options and boozy shakes in partnership with Old Stone Cider. Hangry Bear Creamery offers an immersive foodie experience through our Ice Cream Studio. Groups can book a 2-hour session where friends, family or coworkers can make their own ice cream flavors while enjoying snacks and drinks.

Role Description

Do you love ice cream? Are you passionate about the guest experience? Do you love making Hangry people happy? We are hiring part-time Ice Cream Making Studio Party Hosts to lead ice cream making studio sessions and teach people ages 4-100 how to make ice cream. Our ice cream studio is booked with multiple parties per days with the busiest days being Friday nights through Sunday night. Our studio hosts up to 16 people making their own custom ice cream flavors in groups. The host will guide the guests through the ice cream journey and process while preparing machines and ingredients for their flavors.

Knowledge of ice cream making process and history is not required but candidates must be comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading parties after training.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead a unique ice cream making experience with a friendly and positive attitude
  • Oversee ice cream studio sessions from greeting the clients and guests, giving a tutorial of the history of ice cream and the process, preparing ingredients desired by guests, using ice cream batch freezers & equipment, assisting guests/groups with the process, entertaining with ice cream activities such as trivia & bingo.
  • Follow timeline needed to complete ice cream sessions within the timeframe allowed
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, surfaces and dishes.
  • Coordinate and communicate party needs with kitchen, bar and server staff.
  • Use a cash register to ring in orders and cash out guests.
  • In downtime, duties may include serving ice cream, bartending, barista, bussing, running food and cleaning.
  • Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote position culture. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to effectively problem solve and lead by positive example.
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by thinking proactively. Communicate with customers, team members and management often to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be 18 or older due to liquor license
  • Experience teaching, leading, public speaking or working with children a plus.
  • Experience with food preparation a plus
  • Expertise in customer service and problem solving and ability to anticipate customer needs is required
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. ServSafe required or must be obtained within 3 weeks of hiring.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Availability and flexibility to work during weekends and evenings is required
  • A passion for food and a commitment to amazing food to hangry patrons

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
