POSITION PURPOSE Accountable to the Director of Department of Critical Care Medicine, the CIS Manager ICU will be responsible for maintaining the ICU's Clinical Information System known as ICCA. This CIS has been running for 26 years and records all observations and medications for patients within the ICU. It also downloads pathology results for each patient. ICCA has a dedicated data warehouse which is used to generate reports and provide data for audit and research. With its linkages to other SQL servers and gateways to hospital networks, ICCA provides notifications and reports to clinicians and administrators. ICCA is highly configurable, and the CIS Manager ICU would ensure that the product is kept up to date and running 24/7 with assistance from the Hospital's IT department. POSITION DUTIES ICU Clinical Information System Management Systems Knowledge Familiar with clinical information system database structure and design. Capability to be familiar the architecture and structure of ICCA. Familiar with guidelines for database management and maintenance. Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, SQL Server). Systems Management Responsible for configuration and management including (but not exclusive); Dictionaries and clinical content editors, Forms and Documents, Phrase builder (structured text), Reports, Interfaces including bedside devices, HL7 coded terms, Pathology data, Document export and Patient Data Export Liaise with Philips Healthcare ICCA engineers for troubleshooting, configuration, and product upgrades Develop and expand linkages between the ICCA DAR (Archive) and the various hospital SQL databases Assist clinical staff with data queries involving the ICCA-DAR to facilitate clinical audit and research. To assist Information Technology (SVHA) with IT issues within the ICU including configuration of desktop and mobile computers Liaise with Medical Engineering, Pathology IT, PACS IT, Cardiology IT, MRO, Decision Support and other Departmental IT officers to optimise the functioning of ICCA Communication and interpersonal skills Consult with intensivists, registrars and residents to discuss cases as required Assist the ICU Data Manager with information to be collected for audit, research and data uploads to ANZICS CORE Participate in teleconferencing/ data management meetings as required Document all relevant correspondence as required Data Management Check data integrity against patient history Support staff education in the Clinical Information Systems Perform the duties of the position to the best of their ability and to a standard acceptable to SVHM Comply with all SVHM policies, procedures, by laws and directions Comply with all SVHM requirements, policies, procedures and directions Treat others with respect and always behave professionally and in accordance with the SVHM Code of Conduct Only access confidential information held by SVHM when this is necessary for business purposes, maintaining the confidentiality of that information once accessed Participate in the annual SVHM performance review process Display adaptability and flexibility to meet the changing operational needs of the business Comply with applicable Enterprise Bargaining Agreement provisions Display a willingness to develop self and seek to improve performance Maintain skills and knowledge necessary to safely and skilfully undertake duties Take personal responsibility for the quality and safety of work performed Recognise the relationship between clinical and non-clinical functions in the achievement of optimal safety and quality care Take all necessary care and precautions in the performance of duties Participate in risk management and continuous quality improvement activities as part of day-to-day work Health and Safety Attend general hospital orientation within 3 months of commencement Protect the health and safety of self and others, complying with all health and safety related policies, procedures and directions Report incidents and accidents and collaborate with management to resolve safety issues Complete required Fire and Emergency Training annually Complete required Workplace Culture and Equity Training annually As required, comply with fit-testing and PPE requirements Participate in reporting and analysis of safety and quality data including risks or hazards, Report any hazards, near misses and incidents (regardless of whether an injury occurred or not)into Riskman Identify and report any variance to expected standard and minimising the risk of adverse outcomes Willing to achieve and maintain certification of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) A sound understanding of ANZICS database definitions Familiar with guidelines for database management and maintenance.
