- Patient care and management: Diagnose and manage complex conditions, provide round-the-clock care, and perform medical procedures like intubation and central line insertion.
- Treatment planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in consultation with a multidisciplinary team and adjust them as needed.
- Monitoring and assessment: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, conduct physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Medical procedures: Perform life-saving procedures such as intubation, cardioversion, defibrillation, and insertion of monitoring lines.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients' families about their condition, treatment, and prognosis. Effectively hand over patient information to the next shift.
- Team collaboration: Work with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and consultants, to provide comprehensive care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure proper documentation of all assessments and treatments.
- Emergency response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate, life-saving treatment.
- Professional development: Stay updated with the latest medical research, participate in continuing education, and mentor junior medical staff and students.
