I&E Tech I – Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
‐ Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation devices for process equipment including flow, temperature and pressure devices; analytical equipment and instrumentation
‐ Install, calibrate, inspect and troubleshoot instruments and electrical equipment, in accordance with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, ISA and company standards
‐ Identify, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls
‐ Interpret and troubleshoot PLC and DCS logic including ladder logic, function block, and structured text routines
‐ Work safely on AC and DC distribution systems from 12 VDC to 600 VAC
‐ Troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits and equipment including VFD’s, motors and motor control circuits
‐ Practice awareness concerning issues of health, safety and the environment; cooperate with appropriate colleagues to anticipate and resolve any hazardous and/or unusual situations (oil spills and line leaks, inclement weather, etc.)
‐ Support operations to minimize production impacts and enhance reliability
‐ Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism while working as a member of a team or when working alone
‐ Interpret schematics to troubleshoot problems and performs database maintenance administration
‐ Complete and maintain required safety/regulatory training (CBT)
‐ Read and understand pump curves
‐ Respond to emergencies and participate in emergency response preparedness
‐ Troubleshoot control circuits for motors
‐ Perform other various tasks as assigned by the Foreman
Skills & Specifications
‐ Able to run rigid conduit, wire and capable of performing terminations
‐ Ability to apply the principles of operation of all meters and instruments used in applicable I&E work
‐ Must be self‐driven and motivated; should not require daily guidance for managing workload
‐ Must be able to communicate daily with Production Foreman & Engineering regarding I&E issues in respective area
‐ Able to work with a diverse team
‐ Has integrity, good communication skills, and a positive attitude
‐ Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within manufacturing, oil and gas facilities
‐ Comfortable working in a fast‐paced high‐pressure production environment
‐ Has basic computer skills; data entry into various electronic databases or the ability to learn
‐ Maintains good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility
‐ Must be able to use and navigate business applications including operations software and be proficient with MS Office
Education & Qualifications
‐ Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)
‐ Legally authorized to work in the United States
‐ Able to pass a pre‐employment drug and background check
‐ Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state‐certified program
‐ Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
‐ Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on‐call rotation
‐ Must be able to respond to call outs within 30 minutes of notification
‐ Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred
‐ Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
