IEP Coordinator / Case Manager

Job Summary:

The IEP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. This role ensures compliance with federal and state special education laws and regulations while promoting student success through collaboration with educators, families, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings in accordance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) timelines and regulations.
  • Ensure all required team members are present at IEP meetings and that documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Serve as the liaison between special education staff, general education staff, families, and related service providers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of special education laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and monitor IEPs for compliance and alignment with students' educational needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff regarding the implementation of IEPs and instructional accommodations.
  • Monitor timelines and compliance issues (e.g., annual reviews, evaluations, re-evaluations).
  • Assist in data collection and progress monitoring to inform IEP goals and services.
  • Participate in audits and prepare documentation for internal or external reviews.
  • Provide professional development and training to school staff on IEP processes and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in the school’s student information system and IEP management platform.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and provide support navigating the special education process.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • Certification as an IEP Coordinator or Educational Diagnostician (if required by state)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in special education teaching, coordination, or case management
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and state-specific special education guidelines

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency with IEP software and digital recordkeeping
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

Working Conditions:

  • 12 Month position
  • Work is performed in an office and school setting
  • Occasional travel between school sites may be required

Pay: $49,861.16 - $60,047.85 per year

Work Location: In person
