Job Summary:
The Legal Executive will support the legal department in handling various civil matters, with a focus on land litigations, land registrations, and related civil cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil law and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents related to:
- Land registrations and transfer of property ownership
- Legal notices and demand letters related to land disputes
- Pleadings (e.g., complaints, answers, motions) in land litigation cases
- Affidavits and declarations pertinent to land matters
- Settlement agreements in land-related disputes
- Court filings and other documentation for land litigations
- Conduct legal research on land laws, property rights, and relevant regulations.
- Assist in litigation processes, including the preparation of case files, evidence collection, and witness statements for land disputes.
- Support the legal team in dispute resolution and negotiations, particularly in cases involving land ownership and boundary disputes.
- Maintain and organize legal files and documentation related to land registrations and litigations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulations affecting land use and registration processes.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and land registration authorities as necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures related to land matters.
- Provide administrative support to senior legal staff as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a legal role with a focus on land litigations and registrations.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation processes, land laws, and legal documentation.
- Familiarity with property registration procedures and regulations.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proficient in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in real estate law, property law, and regulatory compliance.
