A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Attorney for a remote position in San Juan, PR. The role involves analyzing client files received through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to determine potential relief options. The attorney will handle high-volume caseloads and requires a comprehensive understanding of various immigration areas.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal analysis of immigration files received via FOIA requests.
  • Perform comprehensive screenings of client documents and histories.
  • Manage multiple case files and deadlines efficiently in a high-volume environment.
  • Provide detailed recommendations for next steps in legal cases.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff for accurate file reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
  • Document findings and recommendations clearly for internal use and client communication.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of immigration law experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, asylum, and removal defense.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
