We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. Duties
- Assist attorneys with preparing and reviewing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents for various visa types, green cards, asylum, and deportation defense cases.
- Perform detailed document review and proofreading to ensure compliance with legal standards and client specifications.
- Drafting Specialized Immigration Motions
- Motion to Reopen: Drafted comprehensive Motions to Reopen and Reconsider before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), specializing in cases involving in absentia orders, changed country conditions, and ineffective assistance of counsel.
- Motion for Continuance: Prepared persuasive Motions for Continuance to secure additional time for pending USCIS adjudications, attorney preparation, or the availability of key witnesses, ensuring compliance with the "good cause" standard under 8 CFR § 1003.29.
- Procedural Filings: Managed the timely drafting and filing of Change of Venue motions, Motions to Terminate, and administrative closures.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files through efficient filing systems.

- Strong knowledge of immigration law procedures and documentation requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence
- Effective proofreading and transcription abilities to ensure accuracy in all legal materials
- Strong interviewing skills for client intake sessions; professional phone etiquette is essential
- Experience with project management principles to coordinate tasks efficiently across teams
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in clerical tasks such as filing and record keeping
- Demonstrated legal administrative experience supporting attorneys in a busy law office setting
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
