Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Immigration Litigation Attorney specializing in Removal Defense to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will advocate for clients facing immigration removal proceedings, providing expert legal representation and strategic counsel. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, high-stakes cases and is comfortable litigating against DHS in Immigration Court, the BIA, and federal district courts. Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in immigration court proceedings related to removal defense, including bond hearings, master calendar hearings, and individual merits hearings.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as motions, appeals, and applications with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and file T visa applications, including detailed trafficking declarations, evidentiary exhibits, and I-192 waiver submissions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to develop strong case strategies.
  • Maintain meticulous case files and documentation to ensure compliance with all legal standards and administrative requirements.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
  • Proven experience in immigration law with a focus on removal defense; familiarity with asylum law is highly desirable.
  • Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle litigation processes from start to finish with confidence and professionalism.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple cases simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed advocacy (U Visa, VAWA, T Visa)
  • Prior work with a recognized immigration law organization or nonprofit
  • Federal district court experience
  • Prior work representing detained individuals
  • Experience responding to DHS/ICE misconduct

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
