Manage and oversee all import and export activities for food products, ingredients, raw materials, packaging materials, and related supplies to ensure smooth and uninterrupted business operations.
Plan, coordinate, and execute large-volume international shipments while ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.
Liaise with international suppliers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, inspection agencies, and governmental authorities to facilitate seamless import and export processes.
Monitor shipment schedules, track cargo movements, and proactively resolve any transportation, customs clearance, or documentation issues that may impact delivery timelines.
Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, food safety standards, import/export laws, and country-specific regulatory requirements.
Prepare, review, and validate all shipping and trade documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, health certificates, bills of lading, import permits, and customs declarations.
Coordinate with quality assurance, procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure imported and exported products meet company specifications and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and control logistics expenses, freight rates, customs duties, taxes, demurrage charges, and other supply chain costs while identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
Develop and maintain strong business relationships with international suppliers, distributors, logistics partners, and regulatory stakeholders to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Negotiate shipping contracts, freight agreements, and service-level terms with logistics providers to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
Analyze import and export performance metrics, prepare regular reports, and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance supply chain performance.
Manage inventory planning related to imported raw materials and finished goods by coordinating closely with demand planning and procurement teams.
Stay updated on changes in international trade policies, customs regulations, food industry standards, and market trends to ensure continuous compliance and business continuity.
Support the expansion of international business operations by identifying new sourcing opportunities, evaluating potential suppliers, and facilitating market entry requirements.
Lead and mentor the import/export team, ensuring adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and best practices in international trade management.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience in Import & Export, preferably within the food industry.
Strong experience handling bulk orders and large-scale international shipments.
Excellent knowledge of customs clearance procedures, shipping documentation, and international trade regulations.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Proficiency in English.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
