Job Title: Import & Logistics Executive (China–India Trade)

Location: Mumbai

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Import & Logistics Executive who has hands-on experience in handling shipping lines, freight forwarders, and import documentation for shipments from China to India.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, tracking shipments, and ensuring smooth clearance and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shipment Coordination

Coordinate with Chinese suppliers for shipment readiness.

Follow up on packing lists, invoices, and shipping instructions.

Ensure timely dispatch of goods from supplier warehouses.

2. Freight & Shipping Management

Liaise with shipping lines and freight forwarders.

Negotiate freight rates and transit schedules.

Book containers (FCL/LCL) as per shipment plan.

Monitor vessel schedules and transit updates.

3. Import Documentation

Check and verify:

Commercial Invoice

Packing List

Bill of Lading / Telex Release

Certificate of Origin (if required)

Insurance documents

Ensure documents are compliant with Indian customs requirements.

4. Customs & Clearance Support

Coordinate with CHA (Customs House Agent).

Provide necessary documents for Bill of Entry filing.

Resolve document discrepancies, amendments, or queries.

5. Shipment Tracking & Reporting

Track shipments from port of loading to final delivery.

Share regular shipment status updates with management.

Maintain shipment records and documentation.

6. Supplier & Internal Coordination

Follow up with suppliers for:

Production status

Dispatch timelines

Documentation

Coordinate with accounts for payment-related documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 2–5 years experience in import/logistics.

Experience handling China to India shipments.

Good knowledge of:

Shipping lines

Freight forwarders

Import documentation

Container movement

Basic understanding of customs clearance process.

Good communication skills (English; Hindi preferred).

Proficient in Excel and email coordination.

Preferred Profile

Experience in trading, manufacturing, or import company.

Familiar with HSN codes, duty structure, and shipping terms (FOB, CIF, etc.).

Ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.

Salary Range

₹20,000 – ₹50,000 per month (depending on experience)
