Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Operations Executive to manage end-to-end import processes, coordinate with overseas suppliers and freight partners, and ensure timely and compliant shipment handling. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of international trade procedures, documentation, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Purchase & Supplier Coordination

Coordinate with overseas manufacturers for purchase order execution.

Follow up on production schedules and shipment readiness.

Ensure alignment between procurement, logistics, and internal stakeholders.

2. Shipment Coordination

Coordinate shipments with overseas manufacturers and freight forwarding agents.

Arrange cargo pick-ups from supplier locations (EXW terms).

Obtain freight quotations, compare rates, and finalize cost-effective shipping options.

Monitor shipment movement and ensure timely updates.

3. Freight & Insurance Management

Arrange marine insurance coverage before goods leave the factory.

Review freight terms and ensure compliance with agreed Incoterms.

Optimize freight costs while maintaining service quality.

4. Documentation Management

Prepare and verify pre-shipment documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, COO, BL/AWB, etc.).

Handle post-shipment documentation and ensure compliance with import regulations.

Coordinate with CHA/customs broker for smooth clearance.

5. Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge

Maintain knowledge of Incoterms and international payment terms (LC, TT, etc.).

Ensure correct HS Code classification and adherence to basic compliance requirements.

Support regulatory documentation and import compliance procedures.

Have knowledge of FSSAI regulations, portal procedures, and documentation requirements as applicable to relevant HS Codes.

Have knowledge of duty structure and applicable customs duties as per ICEGATE, according to relevant HS Codes.

6. Import Costing & Analysis

Prepare detailed import shipment costing (freight, duty, insurance, clearance, etc.).

Analyze landed cost and maintain cost records.

Assist in budgeting and cost control initiatives.

7. Additional Responsibilities

Track shipments and ensure timely customs clearance.

Resolve shipment discrepancies or delays.

Maintain proper documentation and records for audit purposes.

Coordinate with internal finance and warehouse teams for smooth material receipt.

*Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field.

2–5 years of experience in import operations or international logistics.

Strong understanding of Incoterms, HS Codes, customs procedures, and freight operations.

Experience in handling EXW shipments.

Good communication and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
