Job description:
Key Responsibilities – Import Pricing Executive
- Competitive Pricing Strategy
- Analyze global and regional freight markets to develop competitive import pricing strategies for both ocean and air freight.
- Benchmark company pricing against competitors to identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved margins.
- Rate Negotiations
- Negotiate directly with shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents to secure the most cost-effective and service-oriented solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and agents to gain preferential rates and priority allocations.
- Market Intelligence & Monitoring
- Continuously monitor market trends, seasonal fluctuations, and competitor pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide regular insights and forecasts on rate movements to management and sales teams.
- Pricing Proposals & Quotations
- Prepare, update, and maintain accurate freight pricing proposals and customer quotations in line with company policies.
- Ensure pricing structures are transparent, profitable, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations and sales teams to align pricing with service capabilities and customer expectations.
- Provide guidance and support to the sales team during customer negotiations, ensuring competitiveness while protecting company margins.
- Performance & Compliance
- Track pricing performance against KPIs (volume, margin, win ratio) and recommend improvements.
- Ensure all quotations comply with company standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
