Job Summary
The
Import/Export & Logistics Specialist
is responsible for managing international and domestic logistics operations, ensuring the compliant, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods. This role oversees import and export processes, coordinates with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams, and ensures adherence to trade regulations and company policies.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field

2–5 years of experience in import/export or international logistics

Strong knowledge of customs procedures and trade documentation

Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers

Familiarity with Incoterms® and international trade regulations

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)

Strong Excel and data analysis skills

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English & Turkish, preferably Dutch

Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
Import & Export Operations
-
Manage end-to-end import and export processes, including order execution, documentation, and shipment tracking

Prepare, review, and manage trade documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, customs declarations, etc.)

Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and internal procedures
-
Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers and authorities
Logistics & Transportation

Plan and coordinate domestic and international transportation (air, sea, road, rail)
-
Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics service providers to ensure on-time delivery

Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies
-
Optimize transportation routes and costs while maintaining service levels
Customs & Compliance

Ensure accurate HS code classification, customs valuation, and duty/tax calculations
-
Stay up to date on import/export regulations, trade agreements, and sanctions
-
Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews related to trade activities
Cost Control & Performance Monitoring

Monitor logistics and customs costs; identify cost-saving opportunities

Track and analyze logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, lead time, and freight cost

Support budgeting and forecasting related to logistics activities
Internal Coordination & Reporting

Collaborate with procurement, sales, finance, and warehouse teams to align shipment plans

Maintain accurate records in ERP and logistics systems
-
Prepare regular reports on shipment performance, customs activities, and compliance status
Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve import/export and logistics processes
-
Support system improvements (ERP, TMS, customs software)
-
Contribute to standard operating procedures and best practices
