Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns promptly
  • Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
  • Support clients with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts; ensure safe movement and prevent falls
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
  • Observe and document patient conditions, behaviors, and progress; communicate updates to healthcare teams or family members as appropriate

Requirements

  • Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, or working with individuals with autism is a plus
  • Strong understanding of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate attitude toward diverse populations
