Caregiver / Home Care Aide (With Dementia Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient Caregiver to provide non-medical home care services to seniors in their homes. The Caregiver will assist clients with daily living activities, companionship, personal care, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment while promoting independence and dignity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including:
• Bathing
• Dressing
• Grooming
• Toileting
• Mobility assistance
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
• Perform light housekeeping duties including:
• Laundry
• Dishwashing
• Sweeping and mopping
• Changing bed linens
• Remind clients to take medications as directed
• Assist with grocery shopping and errands
• Escort clients to medical appointments and community activities
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition to the supervisor
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients
• Follow agency policies, care plans, and state regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous caregiving or senior care experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish
• Compassionate, respectful, and patient attitude
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Reliable transportation preferred
• Must pass background check and any required screenings
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, transfer, or assist clients when needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to perform household tasks and personal care duties

Work Environment

• Client homes
• Flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
