Duties

• Conduct one-on-one guitar lessons in students’ homes, adapting teaching methods to individual learning styles
• Develop customized curricula that align with students’ goals, whether beginner or advanced
• Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate music theory, technique, and repertoire building
• Manage classroom dynamics by maintaining a positive, disciplined environment conducive to learning
• Track student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
• Coordinate scheduling with families to ensure consistent lesson times and address any rescheduling needs
• Incorporate creative activities such as photography or theater elements to enhance musical expression when appropriate

Requirements

• Proven experience in teaching guitar or similar musical instruments, with a strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning
• Excellent communication skills tailored for working with children, adults, and special education students
• Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a supportive atmosphere
• Knowledge of early childhood education, preschool experience, or working with young children is preferred
• Familiarity with diverse teaching techniques including tutoring, behavior management, and childhood development principles
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for traveling between student locations
