Duties

• Monitor and attend to pets in their owners’ homes, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the night
• Administer medications or special treatments as prescribed by veterinarians or pet owners
• Provide feeding, fresh water, and bathroom breaks according to each pet’s specific needs
• Engage pets with gentle play, companionship, and comfort to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety
• Perform routine animal handling and restraint safely during care activities or veterinary procedures if needed
• Observe pet behavior closely, noting any signs of distress or health issues and reporting them promptly to owners or emergency contacts
• Maintain detailed logs of pet activities, feeding schedules, medication administration, and any incidents during your shift

Skills

• Strong animal handling skills with experience in pet sitting, dog training, or veterinary care
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures and experience working with animals requiring special medical attention
• Ability to handle dogs confidently through training techniques or dog handling expertise
• Experience with animal restraint techniques necessary for grooming, veterinary exams or administering medication
• Familiarity with pet grooming practices and basic animal care routines
• Physical ability for heavy lifting when necessary for animal comfort or equipment setup
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and address their concerns confidently
