Overview
This position is for an In-home Senior Caregiver, providing compassionate, reliable, and attentive care during every other weekend (Saturday night and Sunday night) overnight shift from 8pm to 8am. This vital role ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of a pleasant and intelligent 85-year old woman in a home setting. Punctuality and dependability are essential—being on time is a must to deliver seamless care and support. Duties
- Monitor safety and well-being throughout the overnight shift, ensuring adherence to care plans and safety protocols
- Observe and document changes in physical or mental condition, including vital signs and behavioral patterns
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Use equipment like finger pulse oximeter, oxygen tanks, leg compression and purwick (Training videos will be provided, all equipment is already set up and very easy to use)
- Administer medications accurately following care plans, ensuring proper documentation at all times (all medicine is labeled and compartmentalized by day and time)
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary restrictions or preferences, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area (rarely required as this is a nighttime position)
- Conduct thorough patient observation to identify any signs of distress or health issues promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with transfers, medication administration, and patient monitoring
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility
- Ability to follow a care plan and a willingness to learn how to operate basic and simple to use equipment and a willingness to ask questions if you are unsure about how to do something
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient condition and respond swiftly to emergencies or changes in health status
- Excellent punctuality and reliability—being on time for every shift is mandatory to ensure continuous quality care
