JOB SUMMARY:

The In-house attorney role encompasses overseeing legal affairs for the company's domestic and international operations. This involves drafting contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing corporate registrations, and resolving disputes. Responsibilities extend to supporting cooperation projects and protecting intellectual property rights. Collaboration with external legal resources, assistance in labor law cases, and providing comprehensive legal counsel to various departments are also key aspects of the role. Attention to detail and analytical skills are essential for maintaining the company's legal integrity and success.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal counsel and support for the daily operations of the company's USA and overseas business.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents for overseas business.
  • Conduct legal analysis and prepare reports for company processes and procedures, participating in decision-making and issue evaluation.
  • Source external legal resources when necessary, evaluating third-party consultants' qualifications to ensure compliance.
  • Perform thorough legal research to formulate effective case strategies and develop compelling arguments.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills with prosecutors and judges to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Assist in new store company registration, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timely updates.
  • Support internal initiatives to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and take responsibility for compliance prevention.
  • Handle disputes and litigation cases arising from store and department operations.
  • Collaborate with lawyers to gather materials for court, recover payments, and minimize fines.
  • Manage dispute settlement, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Oversee external counsels from law firms.
  • Advance the protection of intellectual property and maintain IP rights.
  • Support cooperation projects, including MOUs, NDAs, and cooperation agreements.
  • Manage Corporate Secretarial function, including filing necessary documents with Government authorities.
  • Handle labor law-related cases, including disputes over employment contracts, wages, and benefits.
  • Accept and handle legal work in different regions, as well as the resulting differences in work time, language, thinking,

and expression styles etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by regional and headquarters' legal management. (Including but not limited to legal

affairs in the United States, Canada, the European Union, or other regions where Haidilao operates.)

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience in managing labor law-related cases, including disputes concerning employment contracts, wages, and benefits.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various departments and levels within company.
  • Must be able to analyze, draft and negotiate contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to both multi-task with accuracy, as well as prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly.
  • Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Bar admission required.
  • Hospitality industry experience is not required but strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English.

Pay: $110000.00 - $150000.00 / year
