Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished In-House Digital Marketing Designer with a background in health care markets including Payer, Provider, and Life Sciences. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of digital marketing experience and capabilities of turning technical writings and product marketing ideas into polished, usable digital assets for a B2B audience.
Essential Role Functions

Design and produce digital assets such as one-pagers, infographics, solution briefs, white papers, diagrams, sales slides, web graphics, and social creative

Translate rough concepts (notes, outlines, screenshots, whiteboard sessions) into clear layouts with strong visual hierarchy

Create and manage design systems: templates, iconography, color usage, typography, and basic brand standards to keep output consistent

Prepare production-ready files for web and print (exporting, compression, file naming, versioning, and handoff)
Website maintenance responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day website updates and upkeep, including:

Build and update pages in a CMS (WordPress and/or Sanity): landing pages, blog layouts, simple content updates, basic navigation changes

Maintain core site hygiene: broken-link checks, image optimization, page speed basics, and routine QA across desktop/mobile browsers

Manage CMS operations: theme/component updates, plugin maintenance (where applicable), user access/permissions, staging-to-production publishing workflows, and rollback/version control practices as available

Implement and validate SEO essentials: on-page metadata (titles, meta descriptions), header structure, internal linking, image alt text, redirects, and sitemap basics

Coordinate tracking: ensure analytics tags/events are in place and verify key actions (form submits, CTA clicks) are measurable

Partner with technical resources when deeper work is needed (custom development, complex integrations, security issues)
Qualifications

Demonstrated graphic design experience in a B2B setting (in-house, agency, or both)

Strong Adobe Illustrator skills (you can create and edit vector artwork, diagrams, and layout-driven assets)

Experience maintaining and updating websites in a CMS environment (publishing workflows, QA, and routine upkeep)

Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and web analytics (Google Analytics, SEMrush)

A design portfolio you can share (PDF and/or online) showing relevant digital work—especially B2B assets and web-forward design

Ability to apply and maintain brand guidelines consistently across multiple formats and channels (digital, print, web, and presentations)

Ability to work on-site in San Luis Obispo and collaborate frequently in person

Basic HTML/CSS literacy for troubleshooting and small edits

Experience creating repeatable templates for slides and one-pagers
