In Person Elementary and High School Math Tutor

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate in-person Math tutor to work with elementary and high school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mathematics, with the ability to engage young learners and help them develop fundamental skills. This role requires patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Additionally, the tutor will be responsible for writing detailed progress reports after each session and creating customized lesson plans, for which they will receive compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Individualized Instruction: Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in English and Math for elementary school students, tailoring lessons to each student’s specific needs and learning style.
• Curriculum Development: Develop lesson plans and educational activities that align with school curriculums and focus on building foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Assess students’ progress regularly and write detailed progress reports after each session. These reports should summarize the student’s performance, areas of improvement, and the content covered during the session.
• Lesson Planning: Create and submit weekly lesson plans outlining the goals, activities, and materials for each tutoring session.
• Engagement and Motivation: Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to actively participate and enjoy the learning process.
• Homework Assistance: Assist students with homework assignments, ensuring they understand the material and complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Skill Building: Focus on enhancing students’ problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills in both English and Math.
• Test Preparation: Prepare students for school exams, standardized tests, and other assessments by providing practice exercises, reviewing key concepts, and teaching test-taking strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching elementary school students.
• Strong knowledge of elementary to high school Math curriculums.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
• Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about working with children.
• Ability to develop creative teaching strategies to engage students.
• Background check.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
