In - Person English Tutor (Chinese-Speaking)

We’re hiring an in-person English Tutor who speaks Chinese and can deliver lessons in Chinese when needed. This role is ideal for tutors who can explain English concepts clearly in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) to support students with grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and overall confidence.

Responsibilities:

• Teach English skills through 1:1 or small group in-person sessions
• Deliver explanations and instruction in Chinese as needed (especially for lower-level English learners)
• Help students improve in: Grammar and sentence structure, Reading comprehension and vocabulary, Writing (paragraphs, essays, academic writing), Speaking and pronunciation
• Create customized lesson plans based on student goals
• Provide session notes and progress updates

Requirements:

• Fluent in English
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree graduate in English or a related field such as English Education, Linguistics, Literature, Communications, TESOL/TEFL, Education
• Strong Chinese proficiency (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) and able to teach/explain in Chinese
• Previous tutoring/teaching experience preferred (ESL/EFL experience is a plus)
• Patient, encouraging, and able to adapt lessons to different learning styles

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
