Norma G Tutors provides personalized, one on one tutoring in mathematics, science, Spanish, and SAT preparation for middle school, high school, and college students. We focus on building strong foundations, problem solving skills, and confidence in a supportive environment. Sessions are offered in person, online, and hybrid, tailored to each student’s goals with clear communication and consistent progress.

Role Overview

This is a contract position (W9, no benefits) for a Private Tutor serving Southern Orange County, including Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, and surrounding areas.

Driving is required. Sessions take place in students’ homes, local libraries, Milk and Honey, or other agreed upon locations.

Provide one on one tutoring in math, science, Spanish, or SAT prep

Create personalized lesson plans based on student needs

Identify learning gaps and support skill development

Teach effective study habits and test strategies

Track progress and communicate updates with families

Build confidence and create a positive learning environment

Pay & Structure

• $50 per hour paid to tutor
• Families are charged $65 per hour
• $15 per session goes toward marketing and advertising
• All marketing (flyers, business cards, outreach) is handled by the Norma G Tutors team

Qualifications

Background in math, science, Spanish, or SAT prep

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to adapt to different learning styles

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

College students, especially in STEM, are encouraged to apply

Some tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience preferred

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally

Patient, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys helping students succeed
