In-Process Quality Control Technician (IPQC)

Position Summary

The In-Process Quality Control Technician (IPQC) is responsible for monitoring ink quality during production by performing testing and verification at the quality window throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures products meet BCM Inks quality standards before advancing through production.

The IPQC Technician works closely with production operators, the color lab, and operations leadership to verify batch quality, identify deviations, and support consistent product performance.

This is a hands-on role on the production floor supporting our flexographic ink blending operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process quality checks during ink manufacturing at the designated quality window
  • Conduct required testing on batches in production including:
  • Viscosity checks
  • pH testing
  • Additional laboratory testing as required
  • Pull production samples and ensure samples are properly labeled and documented
  • Perform drawdowns and visual inspections when required
  • Verify batches meet production specifications before release to the next stage of processing
  • Record and maintain accurate quality data and documentation in company systems
  • Communicate any out-of-specification conditions to production, lab personnel, and operations leadership
  • Assist production with corrective adjustments when quality parameters fall outside specification
  • Maintain compliance with BCM Inks quality procedures and ISO quality management systems
  • Ensure proper traceability of batches, samples, and materials throughout the production process

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing quality control, lab technician, or production environment preferred
  • Ability to perform basic testing and measurements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across production and lab teams
  • Basic computer skills required, including the ability to enter data, document results, and navigate company systems
  • Ability to lift samples and work on a production floor environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with inks, coatings, pigments, or printing processes
  • Familiarity with viscosity testing methods
  • Experience performing pH testing and basic lab analysis
  • Experience working within an ISO or formal quality system

Work Environment

  • Production manufacturing facility
  • Exposure to pigments, inks, and coatings
  • Requires standing, walking, and interaction with production equipment
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced environment supporting active production operations

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
