Advertisement FlyerAdult Medicaid Unit: Performs difficult technical work determining eligibility of applicants to receive assistance through social service income maintenance programs through essential functions such as: receiving applications; training and advising caseworkers; ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and policies; maintaining records and files; preparing reports; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of an Income Maintenance Supervisor II or Income Maintenance Administrator. Limited Supervision is exercised over caseworkers in unit.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public social service organizations • Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and regulations governing income maintenance programs • Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, social agencies, and the general public • Ability to perform casework function under and within structured time frame
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
  • Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s LicenseThis is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
