Responsibilities

• Conduct independent financial reviews and audits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Evaluate internal controls and assess compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission) frameworks, and governmental accounting standards.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, analysis documentation, and audit findings that clearly communicate results to stakeholders.
• Review corporate accounting processes, general ledger transactions, and financial software systems to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
• Assist clients with risk management strategies by analyzing financial concepts, regulatory reporting requirements, and internal control effectiveness.
• Support the development of audit plans, testing procedures, and documentation to ensure thoroughness and compliance with professional standards.
• Collaborate with clients’ finance teams to enhance internal audit functions and strengthen overall financial management practices.

Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required; active license.
• Proven experience in public accounting, internal audits, or corporate accounting roles with a focus on financial review or auditing functions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, SOX compliance, COSO frameworks, and governmental accounting standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting topics such as risk management, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency with accounting software systems and financial management tools; familiarity with financial software platforms is highly desirable.
• Excellent analysis skills combined with meticulous attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• Effective communication skills for preparing clear reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences.

Engagement Details:

• 100% remote, project-based work
• Flexible schedule based on project needs and contractor availability
• Compensation structured per project (fixed fee or hourly equivalent)

• NDA and independent contractor agreement required prior to engagement

Compensation:

• Competitive per-project fees based on scope, complexity, and experience

Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
