Independent Contract Videographer: Patient Journey Storytelling

Position: Independent Contract Videographer / Content Producer

Location: Vista Dental Implants (500 SE 192nd, Vancouver WA) & Portland Metro Area (travel to patient locations and dental office required)

Compensation: $1,500 per completed patient project

Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

About the Opportunity

We are a leading dental implant and full-mouth restoration practice seeking a talented, creative, and professional videographer to produce compelling patient journey stories.

Our patients undergo life-changing "All-on-X" dental implant treatment, and we want to document their transformation through authentic, cinematic storytelling that can be used across our marketing channels.

This role is ideal for a videographer who enjoys documentary-style filmmaking, interviewing real people, capturing emotional stories, and creating content that genuinely impacts audiences.

Project Scope

Each patient project consists of:

Shoot #1 – Before Treatment

Approximately 2–4 hours

Capture the patient's life before treatment, including:

  • In-home lifestyle footage
  • Workplace footage (when applicable)
  • Outdoor activities (walking, hobbies, family activities, etc.)
  • Documentary-style B-roll
  • Sit-down interview discussing:
  • Their dental struggles
  • How missing or failing teeth affect their life
  • Confidence, eating, social, and professional challenges
  • Why they are pursuing treatment

Shoot #2 – After Treatment

Approximately 2–4 hours

Conducted 2–3 months later after treatment completion.

Capture:

  • Final smile reveal
  • Lifestyle footage showing renewed confidence
  • Updated home/work/activity footage
  • Testimonial interview discussing:
  • Their treatment experience
  • Changes in quality of life
  • Confidence and functionality improvements
  • Overall transformation

Deliverables

For each completed patient story:

Long-Form Feature

  • One professionally edited video
  • Approximately 4–6 minutes in length
  • Documentary/interview style
  • Color graded
  • Professionally mixed audio
  • Licensed music included

Short-Form Marketing Content

Create:

  • Four (4) vertical social media videos
  • 15–30 seconds each
  • Optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts

Compensation

$500 – Shoot #1

$500 – Shoot #2

$500 – Final Editing & Delivery

Total Compensation: $1,500 per completed patient project

Potential for ongoing work with multiple patient stories throughout the year.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Professional videography experience
  • Strong interview and storytelling skills
  • Ability to direct non-professional subjects comfortably on camera
  • Experience capturing high-quality audio
  • Proficiency with professional editing software
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Professional communication and punctuality

Preferred:

  • Documentary filmmaking experience
  • Testimonial or healthcare marketing experience
  • Experience creating both long-form and short-form content
  • Drone footage capabilities (not required but a plus)
