Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions and generate reports.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing, budget analysis, and GAAP-compliant documentation.
- Conduct payroll processing and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards where applicable.
- Support tax preparation activities by organizing financial data and assisting with tax experience requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial report writing.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent understanding of debits & credits, accounts payable/receivable processes, and payroll procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy levels.
- Basic typing skills (10 key typing) for efficient data entry and document processing; familiarity with budgeting is a plus. 2. Scope of Services
Contractor agrees to provide bookkeeping and financial compliance services including but not limited to:
A. Construction Accounting
- Job cost tracking by project
- Budget vs. actual cost reporting
- Retainage tracking (AR & AP)
- Subcontractor pay application processing
- Progress billing support (including AIA formats when applicable)
- Financial reporting (P&L by job, Balance Sheet)
B. Government & Certified Payroll Compliance
- Preparation and submission of Certified Payroll (WH-347)
- Davis-Bacon wage compliance tracking
- Fringe benefit documentation
- Subcontractor certified payroll review
- Maintenance of audit-ready compliance documentation
- Assistance with government contract reporting as needed
C. Payroll & General Accounting Support
- Weekly payroll processing
- Per diem and mileage tracking
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Coordination with Company CPA
The Contractor shall perform services in a professional and workmanlike manner consistent with industry standards.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $24.85 - $29.92 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
