Duties

• Safely operate your cargo van to pick up and deliver packages across designated local routes.
• Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Ensure accurate loading of goods onto your vehicle using equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts, if available.
• Verify delivery addresses and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delays, or issues encountered during deliveries.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally and addressing any questions or concerns.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with familiarity in route driving and navigation tools
• Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients during deliveries
• Warehouse experience is a plus for understanding loading/unloading procedures and inventory handling.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks safely and efficiently
• Experience operating box trucks, manual transmission vehicles, or similar commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of forklift operation or pallet jack use is advantageous, but not required
• Excellent driving record with valid driver’s license
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment
