Independent Contractor Driver (NEMT – Non-Emergency Medical Transportation)

About the Opportunity
Medical Ride Transportation is seeking reliable, professional independent contractor drivers to provide non-emergency medical transportation services. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy driving, working independently, and helping others in their community.

Contractors provide transportation services to passengers—including individuals who use wheelchairs—to medical appointments and other essential destinations. Those with experience in paratransit, medical transport, rideshare, or delivery services are encouraged to apply.

Contractor Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transportation services to scheduled passengers
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks prior to providing services
• Assist passengers with entering/exiting the vehicle and securing mobility devices as needed
• Communicate with dispatch regarding availability and trip updates
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle environment
• Operate in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and safety guidelines

Basic Requirements

• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Minimum of 2 years of licensed driving experience in the United States
• Previous NEMT, paratransit, or professional driving experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Professional and dependable
• Ability to assist passengers with mobility needs, including wheelchair assistance
• Must pass background check and drug screening (if required for contract eligibility)
• Must have access to and be able to use a hands-free communication device to receive trip assignments

Work Structure

• This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position
