Position Overview
The Leasing Agent is responsible for managing the full leasing cycle for vacant single-family homes across our portfolio. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to properties throughout the service area. As an independent contractor, you will have flexibility in managing your schedule while meeting performance expectations and turnaround goals set by Summit Property Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct property showings by scheduling and walking prospective tenants through vacant units
- Perform pre-show inspections to ensure units are clean, safe, and move-in ready; coordinate with maintenance when issues are identified
- Respond promptly to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms
- Screen applicants by running background checks, credit checks, and rental history verifications in accordance with Fair Housing laws
- Prepare, send, and execute lease agreements using company-provided templates and software
- Coordinate move-in logistics including key handoffs, utility setup reminders, and move-in inspection documentation
- Maintain accurate records of showings, applications, and lease activity in DoorLoop
- Communicate professionally with prospective and approved tenants throughout the leasing process
- Report property condition concerns observed during showings to the management team
- Meet leasing turnaround benchmarks to minimize vacancy loss across the portfolio

Pay: $35,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
