Independent Contractor - Licensed Massage Therapist

Calling all bodyworkers and estheticians looking for the perfect place to practice on a scalable, "fractional" basis. I am looking for qualified, Licensed Massage Therapists and/or Estheticians to share a beautiful, private treatment space in downtown Algonquin.

This studio is in a modern, sophisticated mixed-use building in an affluent area just west of the Fox River. The facility is located within a well-appointed Pilates & Hot Yoga studio with a loyal clientele. The space is already furnished and fully functional. You would just need to provide your own products, tools, accessories and linens (including laundering).

This is an incredible opportunity for you if you are ready to break away from working for the chains! It is also a great way for established independent professionals to build or maintain their own practices without the overhead of a full-time studio.

This opportunity will be available starting April 15, 2026. Depending on your requested work hours, you can start sooner.

OPTION A (Massage Therapists Only): 1099 with a 60/40 net split in your favor (all tips are yours less 5% if charged to a credit card). To the world, you are a representative of Massage With Hope. You use our booking and payment processing software, and you use our intake forms. You use our pricing structure. You use your own notetaking system and provide your own sheets and supplies. While your availability and profile will be listed on the Massage With Hope website, marketing and client development is your responsibility. For practitioners with less professional experience, this caveat should not be underestimated. It takes time to build a practice; the investment of the time and resources it will take to build your client base will be considerable. You will be paid twice monthly (1st and 15th) and are responsible for your own insurance and taxes.

OPTION B: Fractional Subletting—This is your own business entirely, with separate branding, pricing, booking, intake, payment processing, note-taking and supplies. The cost is $60 per 6-hour, ½ daypart shift, either 8:30AM-2:30PM (hard stop for appointments by 2:15) or 2:45PM-8:45PM (hard stop for appointments by 8:30PM). Days/times are negotiable until paid, after which they are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

• Tools and accessories (cups, IASTM, etc.)
• Body Pillows, Thai Mats, etc.

Requirements

• Currently Professionally licensed in Illinois
• Your own professional liability insurance, on which Massage With Hope will be named as Additionally Insured
• Operate as an independent contractor: Professional and emotionally mature—trustworthy, responsive/communicative, and reliable (professional and personal references to be provided)
• Maintain a respectful presence in a shared space

Rules

• To begin, and for a period of no less than 60 days, the space will only be available on days when the Owner or a designated representative can be on site for supervision.
• The room and its appointments will be returned to the exact condition, after each use, as they were prior to the start of each use. Any and all damage caused, by practitioner or clients, must be restored or compensated for, completely.
• We reserve the right to refuse the service of clients brought in by users of the therapy space, and, furthermore, is to be held harmless for any actions or misadventures by clients of the practitioner. Furthermore, Massage With Hope must be named as Additionally Insured on the liability policy carried by the practitioner, the certificate for which must be furnished prior to any use of the therapy room.
• Standard expectations for hygiene, orderliness, cleanliness and behavior will be strictly enforced, up to and including the severing of future commitments without refund and reporting of unethical or irresponsible behavior to the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and law enforcement.
• The right is reserved to, at any time, run background checks, review insurance and license standing, require drug testing, request additional references, conduct a practical interview, inspect the facility (even within the timeframe of use), or through any other reasonable means ascertain a practitioner's ongoing professional standing and upstanding character.
• A deposit of $120 will be held until an amendable separation of this agreement is reached at its conclusion.
