Jumpstart 2 Recovery LLC is a minority-owned behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment practice based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We provide trauma-informed, client-centered services for individuals navigating mental health and recovery challenges. Our team includes therapists, recovery specialists, and community partners who often work with court-involved and probationary clients.

We are seeking an independent Criminal Defense Attorney to join our professional suite through a rental and referral partnership — not employment. This opportunity is ideal for a self-employed or newly licensed attorney looking to grow their private practice while collaborating with a reputable, community-focused behavioral health organization.

About the Opportunity

This is an independent office rental arrangement, not a W-2 position or shared-revenue structure. The attorney maintains full ownership of their practice, with optional administrative support and mutual referral opportunities.

Jumpstart 2 Recovery serves clients who frequently need legal assistance related to:

• OWI/DUI offenses
• Driver’s license restoration
• Probation and compliance hearings
• Criminal defense and expungement matters

Our goal is to create a synergistic relationship between mental health professionals and legal practitioners who serve similar populations.

Ideal Candidate

• Licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan (or awaiting final admission after passing the Bar)
• Focused on or open to criminal defense, license restoration, OWI/DUI, probation, or expungement law
• Self-motivated, organized, and client-centered
• Culturally competent and committed to serving diverse and justice-involved populations
• Collaborative mindset and interest in community partnership

Compensation and Terms

• This is not an employment position.
• The attorney remains fully self-employed, retaining 100% of their client fees.
• Office rental rates and optional administrative service packages are negotiable based on need and schedule.
